Mars is a real treat, a few hours drive from South Florida, there is a great community and it’s as quiet as Florida can get.

Have you ever dreamed of camping in the real Florida - the old Florida - where it is so quiet that you can hear every bird chirp and every cow moo, where giant live-oak trees covered in drooping Spanish moss and clinging air plants provide beautiful shade and amazing scenery? 

"Trust me, if your at the point where you need to decompress, Camp Mars can help you out."This is The Best campground  to relax, be yourself. Whether you are short/tall/thin/bearish/old/young/divas/butch/single/married......it All works and Everyone mingles well. 

Florida's natural paradise for the outdoor gay man. Friendly community of RVers and lots to do and see each weekend. Camp events put on by the dedicated owners Dale and Tom, as well as some creative assistance from the "perms" (permanent space renters) is key to their success. Last weekend was Bears In Togas, and was Hilarious! Clothing optional pool is a highlight afternoons, and pot lucks are a great way to meet 'n greet in the evenings, as are the campfires, wine and cheese parties, outdoor movies, Bingo, etc. There's always something new at Mars, and always a new face, or a new set of cheeks to gaze at.

From the minute you drive through the gate into the campground you are completely covered by a natural canopy of live Oak.  It's very secluded and it's designed and laid out perfectly.  Great sense of community within the regular campers there but so welcoming to newcomers.  I've been to this campground so many times I can not even count.  I met my partner there almost 9 years ago.  Great people, Great vibe. 

"Relax. You're on Mars" is this gay campgrounds motto. This is indeed a relaxing and beautiful spot, situated on 40 acres and canopied by large oak trees. Membership only, 21+. Tenting and full RV hook-up sites available, 30/50 amp electric, newly remodeled restrooms with showers, Yurts with shared restrooms and cabins with private restrooms. Nice, large recreation hall with kitchen. Pool, lush tropical forest, and nature trails. Camp Mars is below the frost line, and is less than two hours from most Florida cities and attractions."
